Calyx CBD has recently added a new cream to its ever growing line of CBD products. We would like to officially introduce our ‘Smooth’ lotion series!

What’s In It?
Our ‘Smooth’ lotion contains an array of essential oils that are proven to help gently relieve dry, cracked and inflamed skin. Starting with Sandalwood Essential Oil, which must be 30 years old in order for its bark to be harvest for therapeutic uses, our lotion is here to smooth and sooth any skin irritations that may be ailing you. It does not stop there, Calyx Wellness’ ‘Smooth’ lotion also includes Benzoin resin. This resin, also extracted from tree bark, is known for its anti-inflammatory action on skin conditions related to eczema, psoriasis and acne. The lotion also has a base made with hints of vanilla extract as well.

By adding Lavender Essential Oil to our ‘Smooth’ lotion, we were able to enhance the actions of the other oils within our formula. With its cytophylactic properties, that allow it to generate new cells, Lavender is a tonic for our skin.

The top note of this lotion is another ingredient known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-itch properties. By adding Ti-Tree Essential Oil to the blend, our ‘Smooth’ lotion will help aid conditions such as acne and oily skin.

Cannabidiol: How can it help your skin?
Known to provide anti-inflammatory effects to our skin cannabidiol plays a key role in our ‘Smooth’ lotions ability to help sustain the two essential proteins for connective tissue health and elasticity. How is this possible? Cannabidiol’s anti-inflammatory properties help prevent radical damage to skin while helping halt the degradation of collagen and elastin. All this is to say, that our ‘Smooth’ lotion is perfect to add to your skin’s anti-aging routine.

Caused by an increase in keratinocyte cell production, psoriasis in an inflammatory skin condition which affects much of the population today. The dermis has Cannabinoid Type 2 Receptors present and this helps in balancing the overproduction that causes psoriasis.

Our skins inflammatory response to allergens causes various types of dermatitis, including eczema. The CBD products contained within the lotion actions itself on our skin’s receptor sites, allowing for a natural suppression of our body’s immune response to allergens, bringing about a balancing of the overproduction of keratinocytes and sebocytes.
